Space is indeed the “final frontier” and even though man has exhausted his exploration of the moon, we are still trying to reach beyond this realm and go further than we ever have before. This ingenious piece of equipment is 43.5 feet long (13.2 meters), 14 feet wide (4.2 meters) and weighs a whopping 24,500 pounds (11,113 kilograms)! And it only cost 2.5 billion dollars!

We have always heard there were dinosaurs roaming the earth millions of years ago. These mighty beasts were bigger than houses and had an appetite to make Jabba the Hut pale by comparison.

The word dinosaur means terrible lizard in Greek. But strangely enough the man who named it in 1842 (Richard Owen a Paleontologist) was referring to their massive size, not their scary nature. However, they are both big and intimidating. And despite scientists wanting to clone these beasts today we should perhaps be glad a mass extinction wiped them out 65 million years ago. not all of these animals were out to eat whatever got into their way, take the Brachiosaurus for example. This dinosaur measured in at 85 feet long (26 meters) and stood 50 feet tall (16 meters). It was purely an herbivore yet still managed to weigh in at 10,000 pounds (4,535 kilograms). That’s right. It would pluck the leaves from the very tops of the tall trees using its 52 chisel-like teeth.

Asia and a part of China is also home to the Gobi desert. It is the fifth largest desert in the world and Asia’s biggest. This landmass covers approximately 500,000 square miles and is made up of sandy areas as well as exposed flat rock. Creating a rain shadow on the Gobi are the Himalayan Mountains. Due to its rough conditions few animals call Gobi home. The Bactrian camel, snow leopard, Gobi bear and various other species can tolerate this region.
