Children’s Book About Airplanes: A Kids Picture Book About Airplanes with Photos and Fun Facts

We depend on airplanes to get us to our destinations quickly and with ease. But where did it all start? With the Wright Brothers; Orville and Wilbur. These two ingenious men are considered America’s aviation pioneers. Even though other inventors were working on flight at the time, the Wright brothers were the first to do it successfully. It was a historic day on December 17th, 1903 when the brother’s plane first soared high. This is in part due to their invention of the 3-axis control. This allowed the pilot to effectively fly the plane, keeping it up in the air.
Now that we know who invented the airplane and our ability to fly, how does it work? Why do thousands of pounds of weight stay up in the air, defying all the laws of gravity?

First of all the wings on the plane play a major role in control. Airplane wings are designed with an airfoil shape. Simply put when an airplane is flying the shape of the wing allows the air going over to move quickly and to stretch out. This decreases the pressure. The air under the wing is moving in a straight line, so the pressure remains the same. When the high air pressure moves toward the low air pressure (which it […]

Children’s Book About Cars and Trucks: A Kids Picture Book About Cars and Trucks with Photos and Fun Facts

Our path to automobiles started way back in 1769 with the invention of the steam engine automobile. By 1806 we had the fuel-powered internal combustion engine and eighty years later in 1886 the birth of the “modern” automobile finally arrived – we have the German inventor, Carl Benz (yes that Benz) to thank.

Today vehicles have come a long way since the simple steam-powered ones. They are more gas efficient and eco-friendly, they have power everything, air conditioning and sound systems that can reach decibels enough to rock the roadways.

In addition, cars and trucks also come in every style and color imaginable. And can be customized for those that want to step outside of the vehicle-box.

The DeLorean made eyes pop in the movie theater with the original Back to the Future, where this car was able to travel back in time. With it futuristic doors that lifted up instead of out, it was a sure-fire hit. However, the DeLorean […]

Children’s Book About Seahorses: A Kids Picture Book About Seahorses with Photos and Fun Facts

One of the world’s undersea favorites is the seahorse. These peaceful fish spend their lives slowly swimming along looking for food and staying out of the way of predators. Check out some of these cool facts about the seahorse.

These little beings get their name from their horse-shaped head. They have a prehensile tail (like a monkey) that is used to grasp and anchor itself. It can be found in the tropical and temperate waters throughout the world, where they propel themselves along with their tiny dorsal fins in an upright position.

One of the truly remarkable things about the seahorse is in regards to its mate. Seahorses will find a mate and stay with them throughout their lives. The female is also not responsible for her young. She lays her eggs in the brood pouch of the male seahorse. He then fertilizes them and carries the young until they hatch. Once the young hatch they are left to survive on their own. To help guard against predators the young will group together, holding onto each others tails for support.

Out of the 47 recognized species of seahorse, the smallest is the Pygmy seahorse. This itty bitty guy measures about the size of a pea and is found in the reefs of Indonesia. The male still has a brood pouch but it […]
